What is Barangay Kiling: A Historical Overview about?

1) In the 1950s, Pedro Batara from Nueva Viscaya settled in an area filled with kiling and bamboo trees after meeting Benito Rafael from Mt. Province while hunting. 2) Batara and Rafael named the area "Kiling" based on the abundant trees and its history as a killing field for the Kalinga tribe. 3) Over the years more settlers moved to Kiling from Nueva Viscaya, Mayoyao, and Mt. Province. The growing population led to Kiling being officially established as Barangay Kiling in 1955.
