What is Sustainable Biorefinery for Zero-Waste about?

This study presents an integrated biodiesel biorefinery concept aimed at achieving zero-waste production through a circular economy approach. Four scenarios were analyzed, with the most profitable being biodiesel production integrated with bio-succinic acid production, which significantly reduces waste. The implementation of multi-effect evaporation and wastewater treatment improved sustainability by reducing waste production by 81%.
