Can I read Zum Flade-Potential des Nickels on EtoBox?

Zum Flade-Potential des Nickels by L. F. Trueb; G. Trümpler; N. Ibl is a Chemistry article available to read on EtoBox.

What is Zum Flade-Potential des Nickels about?

The FLADE potential of Nickel in sulphuric acid has been investigated by means of potential‐decay curves in function of time in the pH range 0–2. The decay proceeds through 0–3 plateaus depending upon the time during which the anode is held in the passive state. Neither the adsorption‐ nor the oxide theory postulating complex oxide layers can fully explain the position of the potential plateaus. It seems that the initiation of passivation is probably due to chemisorbed oxygen which, after some time, is transformed into oxide with a non‐stoichiometric and highly defective structure, with a lack of oxygen at the metal/oxide phase boundary and an excess of oxygen at the oxide/electrolyte interface.
