This document describes two new HPLC-UV methods for determining methyl paraben and propyl paraben, and methyl paraben sodium and propyl paraben sodium in oral and injection formulations. The first method uses an isocratic mobile phase of acetate buffer (pH 4):methanol (18:82) while the second uses acetate buffer (pH 4):acetonitrile (20:80). Both methods achieve separation of the components in under 6 minutes on a C18 column with UV detection at 254 nm. The methods were tested on standard mixtures and found
