What is Paramecium: Structure and Nutrition about?

Paramecium caudatum is a unicellular protozoan that lives in stagnant freshwater. It reproduces through binary fission, where the micronucleus and macronucleus divide, a constriction furrow forms, and the cell divides into two equal daughter paramecia. It has an oral groove for ingesting bacteria and algae, which are digested intracellularly in food vacuoles. Undigested waste is expelled through the cytoproct, and contractile vacuoles excrete water and regulate osmosis.
