This study investigates the impact of minimalist footwear on injury risk and pain perception among recreational runners. Out of 103 participants, those wearing partial minimalist shoes experienced the highest injury rates, while neutral shoes reported the fewest injuries. The findings suggest that minimalist footwear may increase the likelihood of injury, particularly in new users, indicating caution is warranted when recommending such footwear for training.
