The double delta-function potential consists of two delta functions located at x = ±a. There can be either one or two bound states depending on the value of α. For α ≤ ħ2/2ma there is one bound state, and for α > ħ2/2ma there are two bound states. The allowed energies of the bound states are found by solving a transcendental equation. For α = ħ2/ma there is one bound state with energy E = -0.615ħ2/ma2, and for α = ħ2/4ma there is one bound state with energy E = -0.682ħ2/ma2.
