This study investigates the outcomes of 28 patients with acute exacerbation of fibrosing interstitial lung diseases who underwent invasive mechanical ventilation. Results showed that 46.4% of patients were discharged alive, with longer survival associated with lower arterial carbon dioxide levels, higher pH, and better general health status. The findings suggest that invasive mechanical ventilation may be effective if good ventilation and general conditions are maintained.
