What is Understanding Teenage Pregnancy Issues about?

Teenage pregnancy is a significant issue in the Philippines, with around 500 teenage girls giving birth daily. In 2017, 196,000 Filipinos between ages 15-19 became pregnant. The teenage pregnancy rate has declined slightly but remains high at 8.7% in 2017. Exposure to vice and unrestricted internet access at a young age often leads to unintended pregnancy among teens. In response, the government plans to incorporate comprehensive sex education starting in kindergarten to help curb teenage pregnancy rates.
