A municipal court in Mati City, Davao Oriental convicted two illegal wildlife traders, Jomar Lumakore Toledo and Rompas Manindig Lumakore, of violating wildlife protection laws. They were each sentenced to 4 years in prison and fined 30,000 pesos. The conviction was the result of a raid in April that recovered over 50 million pesos worth of endangered wildlife.
