About this document

Method for Potting Microporous Tubing by Vansala Ganesan is a document available to read on EtoBox.

This patent describes a method for potting (sealing) the ends of bundles of microporous hollow fiber tubing for use in devices like oxygenators and dialyzers. During conventional potting, air in the tubing prevents the sealant from fully entering the tubing, leaving open holes. This invention fills the tubing pores with liquid first to let the sealant fully penetrate without air resistance, allowing clean cuts through the sealed ends with open tubing inside.
