Amelius Paullus was a two-time consul of the Roman Republic in the 2nd century BC who was known as a prominent Roman general. His greatest achievement was defeating King Perseus of Macedon in the Battle of Pydna, bringing an end to the war between Rome and Macedon. However, his worst acts were keeping possessions from the conquered Macedonians, showing his greedy nature, and sacking the kingdom of Epirus, enslaving 150,000 people, due to wanting to cover up his greed.
