What is Palladium (II) and platinum (II) complexes of bis(4-methoxyphenyltelluro) methane. Crystal structure of [{meso-(4-MeOC6H4Te)2CH2} (Ph2PCH2CH2PPh2) PD(II)]-(ClO4)2· 4H2O and [meso-(4-MeOC6H4Te)2CH2]Pd(II)Cl2 about?
Palladium(I!) and platinum( !I ) complexes of the chelating ditelluroether ligand, (MeOCrH4Te) 2CH2, have been prepared and characterised by IR, UV-Vis and multinuclear (IH, 12~l'e{IH}, 195pt{IH}) NMR spectroscopy and chemical analysis. MeOC~H4Te)2CH2} (Ph2PCH2CH~PPha)Pd(II)] (CIO4)2-4H20, which crystallizes in the monoclinie system, space group P2Jn (No. 14), has the cell parameters a = 19.624(7), b= 12.324(8), c= 21.497(5) A,/3=92.27(2) °, V= 5194(3) A 3, Z=4, R = 0.0746, Rw ~ 0.0692 and [meso-(4-MeOCrH4Te)2CH2]Pd(II)CI2, which also crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space, group P2Jn (No. 14), has the cell parameters a=7.90(2), b=20.36(5), c= 11.44(2) A, 13= 100.8(2) °, 11= 1806(6) .~~, Z=4, R=0.0621, Rw=0.0650. The immediate environment about tellurium in both compounds is that of the meso invertomer and these are the first reported stmctures where the chelating ditelluroether has a one-carbon backbone. Only one diastereoisomer was observed in the NMR spectmm of [{meso-(4-MeO-C~H4Te ) 2CH2 } (Ph2PCH2CH2PPh2) Pd (II) ] ( CIO4 ) 2-
