What is Herluin de Conteville and Grestain Abbey about?
Herluin de Conteville was the Vicomte de Conteville and founded the abbey of Grestain around 1050. He first married Herleve, who was the mistress of Robert II, Duke of Normandy and mother of William the Conqueror. Herluin and Herleve had four children together. Herluin then married Fredesendis and they had three more children. Herluin died around 1066 and was buried at Grestain Abbey.
