This study investigates the relationship between abdominal adiposity, physical fitness, and obesity status among Portuguese adolescents aged 10-19 years. The findings indicate that higher abdominal adiposity and age are positively associated with increased BMI, while lower physical fitness levels, as measured by horizontal jump and 40 m maximal velocity, are inversely related to BMI. The research highlights the importance of addressing physical fitness and abdominal fat to combat obesity in adolescents.
