This study compared outcomes of 136 patients with radioactive iodine-refractory differentiated thyroid carcinoma who received first-line treatment with either sorafenib or lenvatinib. Patients treated with lenvatinib had a median progression-free survival of 35.3 months, significantly longer than the 13.3 months for those treated with sorafenib. Lenvatinib was also associated with a higher partial response rate. However, lenvatinib treatment resulted in more frequent grade 3-4 adverse events of hypertension
