This document describes a lab experiment using a Zener diode as a voltage regulator. The objectives are to use prior knowledge of Zener diodes to design and implement a voltage regulator circuit. Students will design a circuit to regulate a 20V peak-to-peak AC input voltage between 50Hz and 1kHz to an output with less than 20% ripple factor. The circuit will be simulated and tested on hardware. After testing, students will design a printed circuit board for the voltage regulator.
