What is Rømer about?

Rømer demonstrated in 1676 that light has a finite speed by observing the moons of Jupiter and determining that light does not travel instantaneously. This discovery is usually attributed to Danish astronomer Ole Rømer, who was working at the Royal Observatory in Paris when he made this determination about the speed of light.
