NASA is migrating all Earth science data sites into Earthdata by the end of 2026, with the Cross-Calibrated Multi-Platform (CCMP) providing a consistent time-series of vector winds over the oceans since 1993. CCMP combines satellite wind retrievals from various sensors and is updated every six hours, offering global coverage. The current version (V3.1) is produced by Remote Sensing Systems with support from NASA, and it includes both 6-hourly and monthly records available in netCDF-4 format.
