What is CDDI: Copper Data Interface Overview about?
CDDI is a data transmission standard that uses twisted-pair copper wire instead of fiber optic lines like FDDI. It allows transmission over shorter distances of up to 200 meters but with a higher dual-ring capacity of 200 Mbps, unlike FDDI which can transmit over greater distances but at a lower 100 Mbps capacity. CDDI was adopted as an official standard in 1994.
