A new species of deep-sea isopod, Litarcturus kexueiae sp. nov., has been described from the Okinawa Trough, distinguished by its long supraocular spines and pleotelsonic spines. This species was collected during an expedition in April 2014 at a depth of 2115 meters, marking the deepest record for the genus. The holotype is preserved at the Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the findings contribute to the taxonomy of the genus Litarcturus.
