What is Combing and Roving Process Explained about?
Combing is a process that straightens and aligns fibers to produce a clean sliver with fibers in a parallel state. It improves yarn strength, evenness and reduces imperfections by removing short fibers. The objectives of combing are to remove short fibers, impurities, neps and slubs while straightening and parallelizing long fibers. For good combing, the feed lap needs to have oriented and parallelized fibers of even thickness and distribution across the width and length. Roving frames produce finer rovings
