This study aimed to investigate the hypothesis that different vocal registers (chest, chestmix, headmix, head) are controlled by different levels of activity in the cricothyroid (CT) muscle versus the thyroarytenoid (TA) muscle. Electromyographic data was collected from the CT and TA muscles of seven singers producing pitches in different registers.
