The study analyzed 68 patients treated for perianal abscesses over 15 years. Most patients were male (63/68) with a median age of 39. After incision and drainage, 31 patients (45.58%) developed fistulas, with males more affected (30/31) than females (1/31). The most common fistula site was posterior. Recurrent abscesses occurred in 6 patients (8.82%), lower than fistula incidence, and mostly affected males (4/6).
