This paper presents an efficient method for recovering high value-added metals from spent lithium-ion batteries using reduction roasting and carbonated water leaching. The process transforms LiNixCoyMnzO2 into Li2CO3, Ni, Co, and MnO, with over 84% lithium and more than 99% of nickel, cobalt, and manganese being recovered. The proposed method shows great potential for industrial-scale recycling of valuable metals from spent LIBs.
