What is The Shard: Europe about?

The Shard is a 310-meter tall skyscraper in London, designed by Renzo Piano and completed in 2012, featuring 72 floors and the highest viewing gallery in England. Owned primarily by Qatar, it has cost £1.5 billion and created over 12,000 jobs, although it has faced criticism from conservation groups and UNESCO for its impact on the skyline. City planners view it as a significant architectural achievement and hope it will become a major tourist attraction.
