While fighting Khomeini, the Forqan also tried to gain supporters and adherents through religious lectures and distribution of religious pamphlets called the Forqan ('the Truth, ' 'the right path'), the way of the Quran. After a series of successful assassinations of Khomeini's supporters, the regime fought back against the Forqan and defeated the group.
