What is Naica about?
The Giant Crystal Cave is located near the Naica silver mine in Mexico and contains the largest selenite crystals ever found, which were discovered in 2000. The crystals grew to immense sizes due to the constant high temperature and mineral-rich environment in the underground cave chamber over 500,000 years. The condition inside the cave is extremely hot at around 58°C, and a person can only survive without protective gear for about 10 minutes, or 45 minutes with gear, due to the heat.
