What is Medicinal Plants in Mina, Iloilo about?

This study documents medicinal plants used in rural communities in Mina, Iloilo, Philippines through semi-structured interviews with local people. A total of 111 medicinal plants from 98 genera and 49 families were used to treat 82 ailments categorized into 17 groups. Most plants identified to the species level were non-native (74%) while some were native (26%) or endemic (7%) to the Philippines. The plants assessed by IUCN were mostly not assessed or of least concern, with only 1% listed as near threatened
