This study examines the relationship between pore fluid pressure and locking patterns along the subduction zone interface that ruptured during the 2010 Maule, Chile earthquake. High resolution seismic tomography revealed variations in seismic P- and S-wave velocity ratios (Vp/Vs) along the interface, which are interpreted as variations in pore fluid pressure.
