Pupils will learn about density by carrying out activities to observe whether objects float or sink in water based on their density. They will predict and observe how various objects and materials, such as rubber bands, wooden clips, paper clips, clay, and spans, float or sink in water. By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to state which objects float or sink based on their relative density to water, and relate the floating and sinking of objects to their density.
