This study investigates the vocabulary learning strategies employed by 35 EFL learners at the National University of Malaysia, revealing that memorization and repetition are commonly favored methods. The findings indicate that while learners recognize the importance of contextual clues and active usage of vocabulary, many struggle with effectively applying these strategies. The paper discusses the implications of these findings for teaching vocabulary in EFL contexts.
