About this document
Ash Determination Lab Report by SwanBella is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This laboratory report describes an experiment to determine the ash content of Lee Crackers samples through dry ashing. Two replicates of 2g samples each were prepared. The samples were ignited in a muffle furnace at 500-600°C to burn off organic substances and leave behind mineral ash. The ash content was calculated and found to be 3.4530% on average, exceeding the expected range of 1-5%. Sources of error included excess sample mass measured, exposure to moisture, and unstable analytical balance readings.
