This document summarizes research on analyzing terahertz wave attenuation in silicon photonic crystal fiber. Finite element modeling was used to compare terahertz field distribution and attenuation for different air hole diameters in a hexagonal photonic crystal fiber structure. Simulation results showed that when the air hole diameter to pitch ratio was 0.95, the photonic crystal fiber achieved the lowest transmission loss of 0.0012dB/m, meeting demands for terahertz transmission.
