About this document
Types and History of Forging Techniques by Rashmi Dhungana is a document available to read on EtoBox.
Forging is a metal deformation process using compressive stress that is classified by the temperature at which it is performed. Hot forging occurs above recrystallization temperatures of 0.6Tm or higher, warm forging is between 0.3-0.5Tm, and cold forging is below 0.25Tm, which provides advantages like good surface finish, high strength, and accuracy. Forging has been used for a long time as one of the oldest metal working processes and was traditionally performed using a hammer.
