What is Ethanol Precipitation of DNA Explained about?
Ethanol precipitation is a common technique used to concentrate and desalt nucleic acids like DNA and RNA. It works by adding salt and ethanol to the nucleic acid solution, which causes the nucleic acids to become less soluble and precipitate out of solution. The precipitated nucleic acids can then be separated by centrifugation and washed with cold 70% ethanol before being resuspended. Ethanol precipitation works by using salt to neutralize the charge on nucleic acids and ethanol to further decrease their
