Can I read Simultaneous Estimatin of Dicarboxylic Amino Acids and Their Amides by Gas Chromatography on EtoBox?

Simultaneous Estimatin of Dicarboxylic Amino Acids and Their Amides by Gas Chromatography by Petr Hušek; Vladimír Felt is a Chemistry article available to read on EtoBox.

What is Simultaneous Estimatin of Dicarboxylic Amino Acids and Their Amides by Gas Chromatography about?

In gas chromatography of amino acids there is a lack of convenient procedure enabling asparagine and glutamine to be estimated separately from their corresponding acids. Today the most commonly used, and practically the only successful approaches, treat amino acids with acidified alcohols at high temperatures, leading to conversion of the amide to the acid. Hediger et al.' studied the rate of this conversion in acidified butanol, and by combination of esterification time and temperature they found optimal reaction conditions at whi\_ch both forms exist in approximate equilibrium. Even when the technique is applied to the determination-of asparagine and glutamine in enzymic hydrolysates it seems impractical.
