What is Citizen Seismology: Transforming Detection about?
Recently, agencies charged with monitoring earthquakes around the globe, including the U.S. Geological Survey, have begun to ask how citizens might best contribute to the monitoring of and response to earthquakes. Such contributions, broadly termed citizen seismology, have shown the potential to augment more traditional forms of earthquake science.
