About this document
The Legend of King Barabas and Guava by Markdwel Curpin is a document available to read on EtoBox.
King Barabas was a selfish and greedy ruler who neglected his kingdom while indulging himself. When a starving old woman begged him for food, he refused and insulted her. She cursed him, and he soon fell ill and died alone. A new tree grew from his grave bearing round, yellow fruits with crowns that reminded people of the king. The fruits, though sour like the king, provided nourishment. The people named the fruit bayabas after King Barabas, and it is still known as guava today.
