On August 6, 2025, two Pemawa Services staff members, Bonface Mwenda Kimathi and Caroline Kagendo Mukiri, were involved in a coordinated theft at Quickmart branches, resulting in Kshs. 8,220 worth of unscanned items. Both admitted to premeditated theft through manipulation of the POS system and were arrested after an investigation.
