What is Angioscopic Findings Of Third-generation Ultimaster Stents In Coronary Arteries After Implantation With Whole Blood Platelet Aggregatory Threshold Index Determined At The Time Of Implantation In A Real World Study about?

Background: After percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), patients without neointima formation in the coronary artery and a low platelet aggregatory threshold index (PATI) are at high risk of coronary thrombosis. The third-generation Ultimaster stent is linked to absence of neointima formation in the coronary artery. Methods: This was a retrospective analysis of 382 Ultimaster stents in 382 patients (275 males/107 females; mean age: 70±10 years) who underwent coronary angioscopy. All patients received single or dual antiplatelet therapy. Whole blood PATI (WBA-Neo; ISK, Osaka, Japan) was calculated immediately after PCI. PATI was used to determine the minimum concentration of adenosine 5ʼ-diphosphate causing a nonreversible aggregation of platelets and indicated platelet aggregation (range 0-8 (μM)); higher values indicate lower platelet aggregation. We divided patients into three groups: 1) 61-119 days (N=2); 2) 120-179 days (N=39); and 3) >179 days (N=341) after PCI. We classified the status of neointima formation on coronary artery stents into four grades: 0) no neointima; 1) strut surrounded by neointima, but not completely covered; 2) strut completely covered by neointima, bu
