What is Waterweed In The Wash-houses: A Novel about?

Compelling and poetic, Hyvrard's third novel appears to be the story of a mad woman looking at her life. Taking its structure from the major Arcana of the Tarot and the stages of alchemy it draws the reader into its vivid stream of consciousness narration, while uncovering multi-level significances beneath the text. Women's relation to language, history, politics and power and all aspects of femaleness are the themes of this irresistible and highly powerful novel.
