What is Pingala about?

The prostitute Pingala describes how she has realized her foolishness in neglecting the Supreme Lord within her heart and instead engaging in lustful activities with insignificant men for material pleasures. Through great suffering, detachment arose in her heart. She now understands the Lord is the only true source of love and happiness and has fully surrendered to taking shelter of Him.
