About this document

M54B30 Intake System Overview by Joanmanel Sola Quintana is a document available to read on EtoBox.

The intake manifold on the M54 engine splits the intake into two groups of three runners each to increase low-end torque. It also includes separate turbulence bores that channel air directly to individual intake valves in each cylinder, causing intake air to swirl for more stable combustion. The resonance system provides increased torque at low RPMs and power at high RPMs through a resonance flap controlled by the ECM to optimize air flow through a single or dual resonance tubes.
