Mucosal mRNA cytokines profile of gastric wall in neonatal foals: Comparison with endoscopy and histology by C. Castagnetti; A. Peli; J. Mariella; M. Morini; C. Sorteni; G. Bettini is a Biochemistry, Genetics and Molecular Biology article available to read on EtoBox.
What is Mucosal mRNA cytokines profile of gastric wall in neonatal foals: Comparison with endoscopy and histology about?
After acclimatization, fish were exposed to chlorpyrifos at nominal concentrations of 0.05 mg/l while the control animals were kept in clean water. Each day, after 24 h exposition, water was totally renewed and new dose of chlorpyrifos (Ethanol 96% dissolved) was added to a final concentration of 0.05 mg/l. Every 24 h 5 animals from treated aquarium were caught and euthanized with a lethal dose of MS222 (250 mg/l): liver, kidney, brain and muscle samples was immediately removed and stored. At the end of the 96 h treatment remaining fish from treated and untreated tanks were taken and processed. Target genes for expression analysis by Real Time RT-PCR were chosen on the basis of the most common family of genes involved in stress response to pesticide described in literature and on the availability of RNA specific sequences. Results: Expression level of each potential biomarker was normalized against a panel of different housekeeping genes. Discussion: Gene expression analysis could give a valid support to traditional monitoring procedures in aquatic OP pollution.
