Galileo published his findings from telescope observations in 1610 in Sidereus Nuncius. This challenged the geocentric model of the universe. Galileo observed mountains and craters on the moon, many more stars than previously believed, and the four largest moons orbiting Jupiter which supported the Copernican model. This raised objections from the Catholic Church. In 1616 and 1633, Galileo was investigated by the Inquisition and found "vehemently suspect of heresy" for his support of helioocentrism. He was
