What is Ansi s12.6 about?

ANSI S12.6, "Method for the measurement of the real-ear attenuation of hearing protectors" is a revision of ANSI Z24.221, which was first standard for measuring hearing protector attenuations. This EARLog4 compares the three standards, with emphasis on the latter two documents. The standards do not specify minimum acceptable physical or performance characteristics for HPDs.
