This study addresses wellbore instability risks during drilling operations in the Muzhil Shale Formation, Gulf of Suez, by utilizing a 1-D Mechanical Earth Model (1DMEM) to predict and quantify instability. The analysis indicates that optimal wellbore paths and safe mud weights (13.5-15 ppg) can significantly reduce nonproductive time and costs associated with drilling. The findings contribute to improved wellbore stability and operational efficiency in the region.
