There are three main types of RNA: messenger RNA (mRNA), transfer RNA (tRNA), and ribosomal RNA (rRNA). mRNA is formed from DNA transcription and transports genetic code from the nucleus to ribosomes. tRNA acts as carriers that link amino acids to their corresponding mRNA codons during protein synthesis using their distinctive cloverleaf structure and anticodons. rRNA makes up the structural ribosomes and facilitates protein synthesis by binding mRNA and proteins, though its exact role is still unclear.
