This case report describes a 55-year-old man with a 10-year history of joint pain who was found to have both definite rheumatoid arthritis and gout. Laboratory tests found an elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate, rheumatoid factor of 2560 IU/mL, serum uric acid of 10.9 mg/dL, and monosodium urate crystals in joint fluid.
